SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Idemitsu Petrochemical Corp (FIPC) shut its three polycarbonate (PC) lines at Mailiao on Wednesday for annual maintenance, a source close to the company said.

Its 60,000 tonne/year line and two 75,000 tonne/year lines will be kept off line till early September, the source said.

The shutdowns are not expected to have a major impact on prices given the prevailing weak market fundamentals, market sources said.

FIPC is a joint venture between Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corp (FCFC) and Japan’s Idemitsu Kosan.
