SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Yongsan Chemicals Inc will shut its 38,000 tonne/year maleic anhydride (MA) plant in Ulsan for scheduled maintenance in early October, an industry source said on Friday.

The company is currently building up stocks ahead of the turnaround that will last 25-30 days, the source said.

Supply to local and export customers will continue during the plant’s shutdown, but at reduced volumes, the source added.

The turnaround will coincide with scheduled maintenance of a utility plant in Ulsan, the source said.

The company supplies mostly molten-type MA from butane feedstock.
