SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Nanjing Bluestar New Chemical Materials will shut its 55,000 tonne/year butanediol (BDO) plant in Jiangsu province in September for scheduled turnaround, a company source said on Tuesday.

“The unit is expected to shut down on 10 September, and the shutdown will last around one month,” the source told ICIS.

The company’s other BDO plant with the same 55,000 tonne/year capacity at the site has been down since late April and will not restart in the near future because of weak market condition, the source said.
