SINGAPORE (ICIS)--SCG-Dow Group plans to shut its propylene oxide (PO) facility in ?xml:namespace>
The 390,000 tonne/year plant at Map Ta Phut will be off line for around three to four weeks, in compliance with safety requirements from the local government, they said.
The plant, which employs the hydrogen peroxide-to-propylene oxide (HPPO) technology, is currently running at above 90% of capacity to build up sufficient inventories, the sources said.
SCG-Dow Group is a joint venture between US' Dow Chemical and Thailand's Siam Cement Group.
