Please read in the second paragraph…shutting down the reactor for catalyst replacement, the company said… instead of …shutting down the reactor for maintenance, the source said….
Please read in the fourth paragraph …about 54,000 tonnes/year of MA, the company said… instead of …45,000 tonnes/year of MA, according to ICIS plants and projects….
A corrected story follows.

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US petrochemical producer Ashland plans to shut down one of its four maleic anhydride (MA) reactors at its plant in Neal, West Virginia, for much of October, a source close to the facility said on Tuesday.

Ashland is shutting down the reactor for catalyst replacement, the company said.

The shutdown is expected to begin on 8 October and continue through 31 October, the source said. The reactor being shut down is the largest of the four at the facility and accounts for about 35% of the plant’s production.

The Neal facility produces about 54,000 tonnes/year of MA, the company said.

Other companies that produce MA in North America include Huntsman, LANXESS and Flint Hills Resources.
