SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korean producer Yeochun NCC (YNCC) may raise the average run rates at its three crackers at Yeosu to 95% this weekend from 85% currently, company sources said on Thursday.
“Hopefully the downstream plants can restart this weekend. Then the crackers can run higher this weekend,” one source said.
YNCC reduced the cracker run rates earlier this week to 85% from 100% because strong typhoon winds forced the shutdown of some downstream polymer units early on 28 August.
The company's three crackers at the site have ethylene capacities of 857,000 tonne/year; 578,000 tonne/year, and; 465,000 tonne/year.
