SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>China’s Yisheng Petrochemical said it will further push back the start-up at its new 2m tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant in Hainan province to November because of slower-than-expected construction progress, a source close to the company said on Thursday.
“We are unable to speed up construction because of poor weather conditions and other issues,” the source said, but did not elaborate.
The start-up schedule had been delayed once from July to late in the third quarter as construction works were briefly suspended by the local government on environmental grounds.
Yisheng Petrochemical is also building a bigger 3m tonne/year PTA plant at Dalian in China’s northeastern Liaoning province, the source said.
The company aims to bring the Dalian plant PTA plant on stream after the Hainan plant is started up, according to the source.By: Becky Zhang+65 6780 4359
