HOUSTON (ICIS)--Oil production in the US Gulf of Mexico continues to recover, with slightly more than 35% remaining shut in, a government agency said on Friday.

For natural gas, 19.43% is shut in, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement said.

Energy producers began evacuating personnel from oil and natural-gas platforms in preparation for Hurricane Isaac, which made landfall on 28 August. Out of 596 platforms, 6 remain evacuated, the bureau said.
