BUDAPEST (ICIS)--ERCA Emery Surfactants’ new ethoxylation plant in Moerdijk, the Netherlands, will come online during the first quarter of 2013, the chemical company’s director of operations said on Friday.
The new plant is a result of the joint venture between the ERCA Group and Emery Oleochemicals- announced in February 2011- to increase both companies’ presence in the global home and personal wellness markets.
Speaking at the 1st ICIS European Surfactants Conference in Budapest, Hungary, Giancarlo Guantario said the new downstream venture was “compulsory for both companies’ future growth.”
Feedstock for the Moerdijk plant will be supplied by a nearby plant run by Royal Dutch Shell, one of the world’s largest ethylene oxide producers.
The capacity of the plant was not known at the time of writing.
