MELBOURNE (ICIS)--India's Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Co (GNFC) plans to start up its new 50,000 tonne/year ethyl acetate (etac) plant at Bharuch in Gujarat state in October, said a company official on Tuesday.

The plant is undergoing various testing, which should continue until the first week of October, the official said.

Commercial start-up has been slightly delayed from the company’s initial target of September.

However, there were no particular reasons for the postponement, the official added.

Other etac manufacturers in India include Jubilant Life Sciences, Somaiya Group and Laxmi Organic Industries.
