MELBOURNE (ICIS)--China’s Shanghai Huayi Group plans to start sales from its new 200,000 tonne/year ethyl acetate (etac) plant at Wuwei in Anhui province after achieving on-spec output, a company official said on Thursday.

The plant is running at about 50% capacity, after trial runs started in late July, the official said.

The company’s initial sales will be focused on the domestic Chinese market, the official added.

In addition to the Wuwei facility, Shanghai Huayi Group operates a 200,000 tonne/year etac plant at Wujing in Shanghai under the company Shanghai Wujing Chemical.
