SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Jiujiang Hualu Petrochemical restarted its 50,000 tonne/year solvent oil plant at Jiujiang in Jiangxi province on 21 September after completing its maintenance, a company source said on Friday.

The company shut the plant on 1 August for maintenance, planned to last for a month. However, the restart time was postponed by 20 days because of feedstock shortage, according to the source.

The company’s production resumption will help ease supply tightness of the material. However, prices will remain firm in the near term because the market is still in undersupply, traders said.

The company is selling its outputs, primarily reformed C9, at yuan (CNY) 8,750/tonne ($1,389/tonne).
