Taiwan’s FPC shuts paste PVC plant for maintenance

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics Corp (FPC) shut its 40,000 tonne/year paste polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant for routine maintenance on 20 September, located in Kaohsiung, a company source said on 21 September.

The shutdown period may last for 10 days, and the company planned to restart before the Chinese National Day which falls on 1 October, the source said without giving further details.

FPC operates two paste PVC plants with a combined capacity of 110,000 tonnes/year. Its other 70,000 tonne/year paste PVC plant located in Mailiao had completed its routine maintenance in late August and is currently operating at close to full capacity, the source said.
