LONDON (ICIS)--Total has shut down a unit at its Donges refinery near Nantes in western France following a gas leak on Tuesday morning, the French energy and petrochemicals major said.

Total did not say which unit had been shut down, and it did not comment on the cause of the leak.

The company said the leak had been stopped and nobody was injured in the incident. However, traffic on nearby rail line was halted for about an hour. The line re-opened at 07:35 hours France time.

The 11m tonne/year Donges plant is France’s second largest refinery, according to information on Total’s website.
