US propylene stocks fall 0.8%; refinery rates increase

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US propylene inventories fell slightly in the last week of September despite higher operating rates at US refineries, government data showed on Wednesday.

Propylene inventories stood at 4.511m bbl in the week that ended on 28 September, down by 0.8% from 4.548m bbl in the previous week, according to data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

US refineries operated at 88.2% of capacity last week, up from 87.4% a week earlier, EIA figures showed.

Refinery-grade propylene (RGP) for October traded on Wednesday at 42.00 ($926/tonne, €713/tonne) and 42.50 cents/lb, rising from 42 cents/lb a week earlier.
