LONDON (ICIS)--South Korea-based Songwon Industrial has completed an expansion at its facility in Greiz, Germany, that will double production of dust-free packages of polymer additives, the company said on Thursday.
Originally announced in April 2012, the expansion has increased the facility’s production capacity of the polymer additives, known as one-pack systems (OPS), to 14,000 tonnes/year.
Songwon has managed the Greiz plant since December 2011, when it acquired OPS producer Additive Technologies Greiz.
The acquisition and expansion are part of a drive by the company to strengthen its position in the OPS market, according Doug Excell, Songwon’s vice president of business management for OPS products.
“The Greiz capacity expansion is part of our overall OPS initiative to expand our global presence,” he said.
