SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Vinyl Chloride Malaysia (VCM SB) is running its 400,000 tonne/year vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) plant at Kerteh, Terengganu at around 50% capacity following its restart on 4 October, a source close to the company said on Friday.

The VCM unit was shut on 24 August for scheduled maintenance.

The restart is expected to ease the tight VCM supply in the region, market sources said.

VCM SB is a subsidiary of Malaysia's state-owned energy firm PETRONAS.
