EPCA '12: Indorama's UK plant restarting, Dutch expansion on plan

BUDAPEST (ICIS)--Thailand-based Indorama Ventures is in the process of restarting its polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plant in Workington, the UK, slightly later than planned, a company source said on Sunday.

The 155,000 tonne/year site went down for planned maintenance in mid-September and was due back at the beginning of October, the source said on the sidelines of the 46th European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) meeting.

Indorama's PET 200,000 tonne/year expansion in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, is on schedule to start up at the end of October, three months later than planned.

The additional tonnes will will bring the total nameplate capacity to 390,000 tonnes/year.

The annual EPCA meeting runs from 6-10 October.
