LONDON (ICIS)--Trelleborg has officially opened two new operations near Sao Paulo, Brazil, the Sweden-based polymer technology company said on Tuesday.

Trelleborg said it opened operations to produce printing blankets for the graphics industry, and it opened operations to produce oil hoses for surface and deep-sea applications used in offshore oil and gas extraction. The operations are co-located at a facility in Santana de Parnaiba, outside Sao Paulo.

“The robustly expanding offshore industry in Brazil justifies the investments in the country,” said Trelleborg CEO Peter Nilsson.

The facilities will form part of Trelleborg’s strategy to grow in selected, attractive and profitable markets and market segments, it said.
Financial details were not disclosed.

Trelleborg has production facilities in Brazil at in Macae, Santana de Parnaiba, and Sao Jose dos Campos.
