Consumption, stockpiles of US jet fuel decline

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Consumption and stockpiles of jet fuel in the US fell for the week ended 5 October, a government agency’s report said on Thursday.

Jet fuel inventories fell by 30,000 bbl to 44.1m bbl, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). The previous week’s inventories were at 44.4m bbl.

For the week ended 5 October, jet fuel consumption was at 1.409m bbl/day, 84,000 bbl/day lower from the previous week’s rate of 1.493m bbl/day.

Year on year, the cumulative daily average of jet fuel consumption was 1.2% lower, the EIA said.

Furthermore, jet fuel production decreased by 81,000 bbl/day to 1.454m bbl/day for the week ended 5 October.
