HOUSTON (ICIS) --US maleic anhydride (MA) exports in August were down by 17% year on year, according to US International Trade Commission (ITC) data released on Friday.

Exports were 4,471 tonnes, compared with 5,410 tonnes in August 2011.

Month on month, exports were 17% higher than the 3,835 tonnes shipped in July, according to the ITC.

Canada was the top destination for US MA exports in August at 1,437 tonnes, followed by Mexico, the UK and Colombia.
