SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>China’s Hunan Zhongchuang Chemical plans to shut its 100,000 tonne/year 2-butyl acetate plant at Yueyang, Hunan province, on 20 October for about two weeks of maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.
The company will restart the plant at the end of the month, according to the source.
The company has another 60,000 tonne/year 2-butyl acetate line at Yueyang, which has been shut since June to change its transformers, according to the source.
As China’s market supply is ample and the time of maintenance is not long, most players think the maintenance will have little impact on the market.
The spot prices of 2-butyl acetate were assessed as stable at CNY6,800-6,900/tonne ($1,086-1,102/tonne) DEL (delivered) east China on 18 October from the previous day, according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.
