SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s biggest refiner Sinopec is planning to restart its Zhanjiang and Guangzhou subsidiaries’ units in the following week as they have cleared environmental checks, a company source said on Friday.

Sinopec Zhanjiang Dongxing Petrochemical stopped production on 27 September while Sinopec Guangzhou shut its 5.2m tonne/year crude distillation unit (CDU) and three downstream units two days later, following reports of their violation of pollution regulations.

The two subsidiaries are expected to resume normal operation in one or two weeks, the source said.
