SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Nan Ya Plastics restarted its 720,000 tonne/year No 4 monethylene glycol (MEG) plant at Mailiao on 22 October, a company source said on Monday.

“The unit was restarted this morning, and it is running at 70-80% [capacity] currently,” the source said.

The unit at the site was shut on 26 September following a fire that hit its heat exchange pipelines.

The company’s 360,000 tonne/year No 3 MEG plant is undergoing engineering work and is expected to restart in the first half of November, the source added,

Nan Ya Plastics is a unit of Taiwanese petrochemical major Formosa Group.
