SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China's Zhejiang Weibo Chemical is currently running its 50,000 tonne/year phthalic anhydride (PA) plant at Haiyan in Zhejiang province at 50% of capacity, a company source said on Wednesday.

The plant was started up on 18 October, the source said.

“We are currently operating the plant at 50% capacity, and there are limited cargoes available for sales,” the company source said.

PA is used to produce downstream dioctyl phthalate (DOP).

The company has a 100,000tonne/year (DOP) plant at the same site that was taken off line over the weekend of 20-21 October. The DOP plant will be connected through a pipeline to the new PA plant and is expected to restart next week, the source said.
