SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hebei Yingdu Gasification plans to shut its 500,000 tonne/year acetic acid plant at Xingtai, Hebei province, for maintenance on 28 October, sources in the company said on Thursday.

The plant is scheduled to be taken offline for one week and is currently operating at around 90% of capacity, the source added.

Hebei Yingdu Gasification’s plant shutdown is unlikely to have any major impact on the acetic acid market because the producer has sufficient inventories, market sources said.

Major acetic acid producers in China include Celanese, BP YPC Acetyls Co (Byaco), Jiangsu Sopo, Shanghai Wujing Chemical, and Yankuang Cathay.
