UpdateHydrotreating unit fire extinguished at BP's Texas refinery

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Crews have extinguished the fire that started in a hydrotreating unit at the BP refinery in Texas City, Texas, the company said on Tuesday.

The fire caused the company to shut down the resid hydrotreater, but the rest of the refinery continued to operate, BP said.

No injuries were reported, the company said.

BP’s Texas City refinery has a capacity of 475,000 bbl/day.
