HOUSTON (ICIS)--US third-quarter mixed xylenes (MX) production was down slightly compared with the same time a year ago, according to data released by the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) on Wednesday.
Third-quarter 2012 MX production was at 272m gal, down by 3% from 279m gal from the third quarter in 2011.
Third-quarter MX production of this year was down by 8% from 296m gal from the previous quarter.
AFPM did not report inventories for the quarter.
Companies offering information for the survey included BP Chemicals, Chevron Phillips Chemical, CITGO Petroleum, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, Flint Hills Resources, Marathon Petroleum, Shell Chemical and Total Petrochemicals.
