BANGKOK (ICIS)--Thailand’s Integrated Refinery Petrochemical Complex (IRPC) plans to produce more pipe grade high density polyethylene (HDPE) at Map Ta Phut next year, a company source said on Monday.
The company plans to convert its existing 80,000 tonne/year HDPE plant at the site that currently produces HDPE grades, such as film and injection grades, to make black compounded HDPE 100 pipe grade resin, the source said.
“The conversion should be completed in the third or fourth quarter next year,” the source said.
IRPC currently produces black HDPE 100 pipe grade resin at its 60,000 tonne/year facility in Map Ta Phut for the domestic and export markets, he said.
The producer’s key export markets for HDPE 100 resin are Australia and the Middle East, he added.
