MELBOURNE (ICIS)--India's Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Co (GNFC) has achieved on-spec ethyl acetate (etac) output at its new 50,000 tonne/year plant at Bharuch in Gujarat state, a company official said on Monday.

Operating rate of the plant, which is running at approximately 60% capacity, is being gradually ramped up, the official said.

GNFC plans to start selling etac in the domestic market by the end of the week, after stable plant operations have been established, the official added.

Other etac manufacturers in India include Jubilant Life Sciences, Laxmi Organic Industries, Somaiya Group and Dhampur Alco Chem.
