SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Teck Guan China has yet to set a restart date for its 100,000 tonne/year fatty alcohol plant, which was shut on 3 or 4 November following a fire, a source close to the company said on Friday.

The facility, which is located at Rugao in Jiangsu province, was shut barely a month after it resumed production.

The plant was earlier taken off line for about five weeks to resolve a technical glitch.

Chinese sources said the production disruption is unlikely to have a significant impact on domestic prices in China because of the lacklustre performance of the downstream surfactant sector.
