HOUSTON (ICIS)--US butyl acetate (butac) exports in September fell 10% year on year from reduced shipments to Brazil, Canada and Mexico, according to data released on Friday by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
US butac exports totalled 6,113 tonnes in September, compared with 6,759 tonnes in the same month of 2011.
September shipments to Mexico - the largest destination - totalled 1,359 tonnes, down by 6.5% compared with 1,455 tonnes in the same month of 2011.
Shipments to Canada fell by 15% to 571 tonnes, compared with 670 tonnes in September 2011.
Major US butac producers include Dow Chemical, Eastman Chemical and Oxea Group.
