US urea imports rose to 872,622 tonnes in September from 597,141 tonnes in September 2011.
Imports rose in September mainly because of increased product from China and Oman.
September imports increased from 576,071 tonnes in August.
China at 128,160 tonnes was the major source of US urea imports, followed by Oman at 123,352 tonnes and Canada at 114,360 tonnes.
Other sources included Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Trinidad & Tobago, Qatar, Croatia and Bahrain.
