RIO DE JANEIRO (ICIS)--The 32nd Latin American Petrochemical Association (APLA) drew around 900 delegates at its opening day on Sunday, the event's organiser said.

The figure was slightly above last year’s record in Argentina, when 892 delegates participated of the conference in Buenos Aires.

The annual event is usually held in early November in Argentina, Mexico or Brazil.

Brazil had last hosted the event in 2010, when 815 delegates attended the conference, also in Rio de Janeiro.

The event ends on Tuesday.
