Netherlands DSM to sell DEXPlastomers to Borealis

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--DSM has reached an agreement with Austria’s Borealis for the sale of DEXPlastomers, a joint venture between DSM and an affiliate of ExxonMobil Chemical, for an undisclosed fee, the Dutch specialty chemicals firm said on Monday.

DEXPlastomers is a 50:50 joint venture between DSM and Exxon Chemical Holland Ventures that produces C8 plastomers and linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), the company said in a statement.

The deal, expected to close in the first quarter of next year, includes the sale of the DSM’s LLDPE compact solution technology to Borealis, DSM said.

In 2012, DEXPlastomers expects revenues of about €180m ($228m), it added.
