SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Sinopec Yizheng Chemical Fibre’s (YCF) 60,000 tonne/year polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) line in Jiangsu province has been shut since 25 September, a company source said on Wednesday.

No definite restart date has been set for the plant, which was taken off line for maintenance, the source said.

Market participants said that the prolonged shutdown could be because of weak PBT demand, but this was not confirmed by the company source.

YCF’s other PBT line at the site with a 20,000 tonnes/year capacity is running at full capacity, the company source said.
