SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China-based Singpu Chemicals has shut its 300,000 tonne/year vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) plant located in Jiangsu province on 12 November for routine maintenance, a company source said on Wednesday.

The shutdown may last for 25 days and the company plans to restart the plant in early December, the source added.

The company’s 200,000 tonne/year VCM plant at the same site completed a maintenance shutdown that lasted for about 20 days in September.

Singpu Chemicals’ offer for VCM was at yuan (CNY) 6,000/tonne ($963/tonne) on 14 November, higher than market participants’ buying ideas, because of its limited output this month.
