SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Qiwangda Group plans to restart its 80,000 tonne/year methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) unit at Zibo city in Shandong province on around 20 November, a company source said on Friday.
The unit was shut on 15 November because of technical glitches, added the source.
The company has no MTBE inventories because of smooth sales, according to the source.
The company usually produces 200 tonnes/day of MTBE, the majority of which are supplied to local chemical factories, market sources said.
Shandong Qiwangda Group also runs a 600,000 tonne/year residual fluid catalytic cracker (RFCC) and a 120,000 tonne/year aromatics unit at the same site.
