HOUSTON (ICIS)--LSB Industries has halted production at its main ammonia plant in Pryor, Oklahoma, because of unplanned maintenance on a compressor, the US-based producer said on Wednesday.

LSB expects the plant to be down for about six to eight weeks, resulting in about $2.0m (€1.6m)/week in lost operating income, it said.

During the downtime, LSB will also install a new ammonia converter to improve the plant’s performance, it said. The company had previously planned to install the converter in early 2013.

LSB is a manufacturer and marketer of climate-control products and chemicals for the agricultural, mining and industrial markets.
