SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China's Zhejiang Cenway New Synthetic Materials’ 65,000 tonne/year isobutylene-isoprene copolymers (IIR) plant in Zhejiang will switch to producing chlorinated IIR in December, a company source said on Tuesday.

“The plant is currently producing brominated IIR 2402, but we plan to switch to producing chlorinated IIR in December,” the source said.

The plant has replaced IIR 532/552 production with that of brominated IIR 2402 since the end of October, the source added.

This is the first time the company is producing brominated IIR and chlorinated IIR in 2012, according to the source.

Zhejiang Cenway New Synthetic Materials is a major IIR, brominated IIR and chlorinated IIR producer in China.
