TOKYO (ICIS)--Japanese refiner JX Nippon Oil & Energy plans to restart the 110,000 bbl/day No 3 crude distillation unit (CDU) at its Mizushima B refinery on Wednesday, more than four months since the unit was shut, the company said on Tuesday.
The refiner has shut all the facilities at the Mizushima B complex in July this year on safety issues.
On 14 September, JX Nippon Oil has restarted its 12,500 bbl/day normal paraffin unit at the site, the company said in a statement.
The rest of the facilities at the Mizushima B refinery – including a 95,200 bbl/day No 2 CDU – have remained shut, with no restart schedule given by the company.
JX Nippon Oil’s Mizushima refinery in Okayama prefecture houses two complexes – A and B – with a combined capacity of 345,200 bbl/day.
