SINGAPORE (ICIS) – Polyethylene (PE) import offers in China have increased on bullish market sentiment, local traders said on 3 December.
A trader in eastern China offered a Thailand LLDPE cargo at $1480/tonne (zero-tariff) CFR China at sight, for December shipment. A separate local trader offered Saudi Arabia LLDPE at $1390/tonne CFR China at sight, for December shipment.
A trader in southern China said that they dealt a Thailand LLDPE cargo at $1470/tonne (zero-tariff) CFR China L/C 90 days, for January 2013 shipment.
A separate trader in southern China offered a deep-sea LLDPE cargo at $1400/tonne CFR China, L/C 90 days, for January 2013 shipment.
Most market players kept to the sidelines with caution in consideration of Daqing Petrochemical's unexpected turnaround, and they are hesitant to announce their offers.
The benchmark LLDPE film spot prices were at $1,330-1,380/tonne CFR China in the week ended 30 November, according to ICIS.
