China’s Guanghui Energy starts commercial ops at Hami LNG project

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Guanghui Energy said on Wednesday it has started commercial operations at its methanol/dimethyl ether (DME)/liquefied natural gas (LNG) project at Hami in Xinjiang province this week after acheiving on-spec LNG products on 2 December.

The project can produce 1.2m tonnes/year of methanol; 800,000 tonnes/year of DME; and 500m cubic metres/year of liquefied natural gas (LNG), the company said in a statement.

Guanghui Energy has been doing test runs at the project since 15 September last year, it said.

Financial details of the project were not disclosed.
