US propylene stocks drop 3% despite higher refinery rates

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US propylene inventories fell by 3% in the last week of November despite higher operating rates at US refineries, data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed on Wednesday.

US propylene inventories stood at 4.079m bbl in the week that ended on 30 November, down from 4.212m bbl a week earlier.

Refineries operated at 90.6% of capacity, up from 88.6% in the previous week, EIA data showed.

Refinery-grade propylene (RGP) for November was bid at 48.75 cents/lb ($1,075/tonne, €817/tonne) on Wednesday with no offers. RGP traded last week at 49 and 49.50 cents/lb.
