SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Ningbo Oceanking Chemical has shut its 150,000 dry metric tonne (dmt)/year caustic soda plant at Ningbo in Zhejiang on 5 December for one week of maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.
Ningbo Oceanking Chemical has a total capacity of 260,000 dmt/year of caustic soda and the company’s 110,000 dmt/year plant had been shut earlier and will be relocated to the same site in this month, the source said.
The company will restart the 150,000 dmt/year plant on 12 December, and start up the 110,000 dmt/year plant later, the source added.
The turnaround is expected to reduce the supply of liquid caustic soda, which may impact on the market prices, an industry source said.
