MEDELLIN, Colombia (ICIS)--Brazil’s fertilizer sales in November totalled 2.78m tonnes, up 2.3% from 2.72m tonnes recorded for the same month last year, the National Fertilizer Distribution Association (Anda) said on Wednesday.

In the January-November period, sales grew by 4.5% year on year to 27.70m tonnes, the association said.

The increase in sales in this period was attributed to a higher demand for sugarcane, cotton, coffee, corn and rice, Anda said.

Domestic production of intermediate fertilizers in November grew by 2.6% year on year to 880,282 tonnes, the association said.

In the first 11 months of the year, production slipped 1% to 8.95m tonnes.
