SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Linde said on Monday it has signed an agreement to acquire homecare company Calea France SAS for an undisclosed amount to expand the German firm's healthcare business.

The acquisition is expected to be completed early next year, Linde said in a statement.

Calea generated €28m ($37m) in revenues in 2011 and has around 200 employees.

Homecare is a term applied to medical services relating to the treatment of patients in settings other than hospitals. It comprises respiratory services such as oxygen therapy, sleep therapy and ventilation services, Linde said.

The company said that its pro-forma annual revenue in the healthcare product area is now around €3bn, making it the largest supplier of medical gases and related services in the world.
