SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s SK Energy will shut its 190,000 tonne/year No 1 cracker at Ulsan for a month-long turnaround in early March, a company source said on Thursday.

The exact turnaround dates were not disclosed.

The No 1 cracker is currently running at 75% capacity in December because of poor economics, he said.

SK Energy’s larger 690,000 tonne/year No 2 cracker at the same location is operating at full rates, the source added. The operating rates for both plants are unchanged from November levels.
