MELBOURNE (ICIS)--China’s Kingboard Chemical expects to achieve on-spec output of phenol, acetone and bisphenol-A (BPA) "in a day or two" after restarting its plants on 4 January following a turnaround, a company source said on Monday.
The producer shut its phenol/acetone plant, which has a capacity of 120,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 80,000 tonnes/year of acetone, on 21 December for scheduled maintenance. The plants are located at Huizhou City in Guangdong province
Its downstream 25,000 tonne/year BPA unit at the same Huizhou site was restarted on 4 January following a scheduled overhaul over the same period.
Kingboard operates a second phenol/acetone plant at Yangzhou in Jiangsu province under the company name Shiyou Chemical.
