MOSCOW (ICIS)--Russia's leading petrochemical producer Nizhnekamskneftekhim (NKNKh) on Thursday said that its polystyrene (PS) production volume reached its highest level last year.
In 2012, the company's PS output reached 190,000 tonnes, the highest level of PS production so far. In 2011, NKNKh produced 187,000 tonnes of PS, it said.
Based in Tatarstan, central Russia, NKNKh is the country's major petrochemical manufacturer. It produces more than half of Russia's total styrene and butyl rubber output, and nearly half of the country's isoprene rubber and PS output.
Last year, NKNKh indicated plans to increase its PS output up to 200,000 tonnes in 2013.
